My little cousin really wants to do gymnastics?

My little cousin is 5 and she loves gymnastics! Every time she comes over she flips and stuff. She takes my iPhone all the time and watches gymnastics then later attempts to do their moves. She taught her self a handstand a forward roll and the splits she's also very flexible. The problem is her parents. They always say she's going to break her spine or thats she's unfit to do the Sport which is so irrelevant. Today she cried because her parents yelled at her for doing flips and hs I feel bad for her what do i do? Sorry this is so long

That is really a shame. I feel like the parents really should give her a chance. But, since she is only 5, I'm assuming she can't really speak for herself, so I would maybe talk to your Uncle and Aunt, and tell them from a different perspective.

She really could hurt herself badly attempting gymnastics moves at home. Could you try to persuade her parents that if she was enrolled in a gymnastics class with proper coaching and equipment she would be much safer? It is also a great sport for teaching discipline and behaviours like turn taking, listening to instruction and working towards goals. Those are all very useful in school.
