My new iPhone can't make calls, send texts, and has no service?
I just got a new iPhone 5S. I plugged it into iTunes to transfer my backup from my current iPhone 5. All my apps, songs, pictures, and email transferred. I can use my apps and get online. I just have no service and can't send texts or calls or anything. I can still call and text from my old phone.
How do I fix this?
Obviously you have to tell your carrier you switched phones, they don't just know by magic.
Remove the SIM card from the old iPhone 5, and insert it into the iPhone 5S. There's a tiny door that you can open up with a paper clip on the phone that contains this card, and it controls your phone service. You have to move the card to the new phone in order to have service transferred to the new phone.
- Why won't my new iPhone 6 (AT&T) send or receive texts/calls? I activated it two hours ago and backed it up with the data and phone number from my old iPhone 4. Both phones now read AT&T and show cellular signal and data in the top left hand corner. But when you text or call my phone number, the iPhone 4 receives it. Why won't my new phone receive it?
- Why doesn't my iPhone send or receive calls or texts? I purchased an iPhone second hand on t-mobile, 3G works fine but can't receive any calls or texts or send them. Thought the IMEI might have been blocked. Any ideas?
- Why does my iPhone sometimes send texts to other iPhones as iMessages then regular texts to iPhones? Like when I send a text to my friend that has an iphone, it usually sends as an iMessage then it will randomly send as just a regular text and it will be green and not blue.
- Why can't I send texts or make calls? I have an iPhone 5 on Vodafone and I can't make texts or calls. What's the problem? I can receive calls and texts but not make them… When I ring someone it says 'connection to this number is restricted to this phone' what does that mean? And it's not just one person I'm trying it on its everyone in my contacts
