My new iphone says no service?
I got a new iPhone 5, and I activated it. I can do everything on it except it says "no service". I have my old iPhone 3G that is still working and that one is getting service. How do I get rid of service on the 3G and get service on the new phone?
You have to call your service provider, sprint-nextel, at&t, verizon, whoever you use, and get them to switch the serial numbers from the phone on their computers, so the tower sends the signal to the new phone instead of the old one. This is something that should have been done when you activated it, but sometimes customer service agents make mistakes.
first, you can try simply shutting off both phones, wait ten seconds, and then turn them both back on. Its possible everything was switched in the system but sometimes phones need to be restarted like ac omputer for changes to take affect. If this doesn't help, then you need to call your provider.
Usually on busy days like Christmas, the servers get backed up and it takes a couple of hours for sims to activate… Just wait and when your 3G stops working, reboot your 5 and it should work
You can't activate it. It has to be activate into the carrier's database by the carrier or their agent.
- My iPhone 4s says no service I've had it about 4 months and it's been working just fine until this morning. It's now been a couple of hours where it's told me no service and has refused to let me call or send messages. I tried turning it on and off several times and I've been moving around all morning so it isn't lack of reception. It's getting really frustrating, please help me! Is there anything I can try?
