My parents won't buy me a new iPhone?

Before you say anything rude, just listen please. I'm 14 years old and I have an iPhone 6 right now, I got this phone for Christmas back in 2014 when I was 10 years old, And that was a really long time ago. I've had this phone for years now and it's all scratched up now, my birthday was on March 27th and my parents gave me $2000 to spend on whatever I want and I wanted to buy an iPhone X but they won't let me, they tell me "your phone still works" but it's old and scratched up. Does this sound fair to you? Doesn't it sound stupid how they won't let me get a new iPhone with MY money? I want to show them the answers. I hate them so much.

Sounds fair.

If they gave you $2000 to "spend on what you want" then they should let you buy what you want.

You might kill yourself over cyberbully.

Throw your fone real hard on some pavement and tell them u dropped it.

Did you use your current phone to ask this?

Maybe you can use some of that money to fix your phone if they don't want you to get a new one

You don't need it. In fact they need to take the phone away and sell it and refuse to buy a new one at all sicne you are a child and no child needs a phone. Since you are a child you can't buy one yourself since you have to enter a contract and a child can't enter a contract and you can't afford one any way

You never took care of the one you had so why should they waste money on getting another one you won't take care of

Get a job, then you'll have YOUR money.

Yes it sounds fair, you are young enough that they control what you can and can't buy. Whether you like it or not you really just have to suck it up because there isn't much that you can do

"I have an iPhone 6 right now…"
Which is by no means obsolete. The newer iPhones don't really do much that your current phone doesn't do already. Ergo, assuming your phone still works, there's no rational reason to buy a new one.
"I got this phone… Back in 2014… And that was a really long time ago."
Not really.
"… It's all scratched up now…"
So, you're telling me that other than some minor cosmetic damage, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your current phone? Then there's no need for a new one, right? Instead, get a new case - that will hide the scratches. Problem solved.
"… My parents gave me $2000 to spend…"
$2,000?! Wow! That's a HUGE present. Very few parents are that generous. It sounds like you should be extremely grateful!
"Does this sound fair to you?"
Yes, absolutely.
"Doesn't it sound stupid how they won't let me get a new iPhone with MY money?"
No. It sounds like they are trying to teach you how to spend your money wisely instead of being a consumerist sheep who is easily suckered by the Apple marketing department and who, as a result, wastes their money on something that they have absolutely no need for. You should thank them.
"I hate them so much."
For what?! Giving you a ridiculously large amount of money for your birthday? Honestly, you sound very entitled and spoiled when you should instead be grateful and appreciative. Again, try thanking them for not only for giving you a huge chunk of change, but for preventing you from p(i)$$ing away on something stupid.
"I want to show them the answers"
Cool! Please be sure to show them mine!
