My texting and internet is not working on my unlocked iPhone?
I bought an iPhone 5 from a pawn shop and it is Sprint. I went to many different places to have it unlocked and most of them said it wasn't possible, but i found one place that did do it using a GPP card. I Installed my Tmobile sim card and i'm able to make and receive calls, but i'm not able to send SMS/MMS, My iMessage and Facetime will not activate and when i go to Setting>Phone>My Number, my number is listed as unknown and it does not give me the option to edit it. Also, my Tmobile Data plan does not work, i'm not able to access the internet without Wi-Fi, but again, i can make and receive calls and i can receive texts. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Make sure your data is on.
You are using a CDMA Global Ready Iphone… On a GSM carrier…
for starters… Your are attempting to mix CMDA and GSM… Lmfao… Thats like trying to mix oil and water! Go on… Have fun! Tell me when you mix it… Lmao… Ill be waiting.
NExt… APN settings… You need to reprogram the iphone to Tmobile Iphone APN settings… Loads of youtube videos on this… But, this may not work. Tmobile uses a weird freq for some 3G and 4G HSPA towers, called 1700 mhz. Its the only company on earth that uses it. OnlY Tmobile phones can see it.So, lets say you are Nerdy Jesus and can mix CDMA and GSM and re-programmed the APN, if you in an area that has a GSM tower only giving of 1700mhxz for 3G/4G, then you are screwed still… Lmao!
You have to understand that CDMA Global Ready iphones only have a sim for use with carriers that are NOT USA based. The GSM freq will enter the attena, hit the sim card of that country's carrier, go to the CMDA radio, get re-trans, and walla. You have facebook!
Your problem is this… You have a CDMA Global Ready iphone with a USA sim in it. The GSM freq is blocked by Apple. So you unlocked it by a… Well… Unethical hack that I won't even touch with a 10000000000000000 foot pole… Not the signal hit the sim, gets screwed with, pretty bad actually, and its sent to the CDMA radio, get re-trans, and walla. Well… At least you can make calls. Lmao! Its like a 5 year making chocolate chip cookies… It may look like a cookie and smell like it… But, its not gonna taste like it. Lmao!
This is why we techs say… Its… NOT… POSSIBLE!
- Why does my iPhone still charge for Internet even when I'm not using Internet? So, I recently got a pay monthly plan with my new iPhone 4s. When i'm out and about I'm usually updating my twitter and Facebook account. But, when I'm put my phone down, 3G still says I'm using it and charging me. So do I have to turn it off when i'm finished? Or is there a much easier way?
- Texting notification to the person I'm texting? How do I change on my iPhone 5s so the person I'm texting doesn't see that I'm texting them with the bubble
- My Iphone is not letting me access the internet or internet based apps? I have an Iphone 5. Never had any issues but now it won't connect to the internet or any apps. It does the same thing it does when I have no service (just has that little circle symbol that means it's trying to get through). Orginally, I thought it must be a universal problem but everyone else has service and they are in the same location as me. Also I always use my phone here with no problems. I have tried turning it off and on again but nothing.
- My iPhone 4. Calling/texting not working? I bought this iPhone yesterday of my friend at school. Internet Facebook etcworks all good, but it's just calling and texting. When I goto call someone, it says your handset has been blocked on this network. IT ISN't STOLEN.
