Need help unlocking old iphone?
Phone is not backed up with icloud or synced up with current laptop and have forgotten passcode. My searches tell me to connect to computer and open itunes or recovery mode or lastly Dfu mode. Completely and utterly clueless what any of that means or how to attempt any of those suggestions.
"forgotten passcode". The passcode is a security mechanism.
If it was easy to bypass, it would not be a good security system. In my opinion, if you can't remember the passcode, then you have a brick. Electronics recycling is appropriate.
You can't "unlock" it but you can factory restore the device. This will delete all information saved on the device and will then be able to be set up as if it's a new phone.
To factory restore:
1. Connect your iOS device to your computer and open iTunes.
2. While your device is connected, force restart it: "How to Force Restart an iPhone 4. Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding both buttons for about 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears."
3. When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Restore.
4. Wait for the process to finish.
- Verizon iPhone 5 help! Unlocking? I have an iPhone 5 for Verizon. I was planning in using it in Tmobile. I tried putting a Sim but it doesn't even read it. I know for a fact they are factory unlocked. And yes they will work on Tmobile. But my friend sold me his phone and his service is still there but its not connected. Will restoring the phone through iTunes factory unlock it?

- NEEDS Help UNLOCKING SPRINT IPHONE 4S? Long story short Sprint gave me a code for AT&T to unlock my phone, but apparently AT&T can't do that and Sprint says that they can't either. It is up to the new carrier to unlock it. Anyway I do have an unlocking code from Sprint… So how do I unlock the phone myself?
