New iTunes account on an old iPhone?
So my boyfriend decided to buy an old iPhone 4 [second hand], but the guy said that he would have to set up a new iTunes account. How is he supposed to do that?
Go to Apple.com/itunes. Click on the "download itunes" button in the top right corner. Download and open the file. Install the program and at the login screen click "new user" or a similar button. Set up your account using the information you chose. Then press and hold the Home button and, with it held down, insert the usb into the computer. The iphone will start in recovery mode, this will reset the phone to your account and then it will be linked to it. This will allow you to use your Itunes account to get your content and save your apps incase your phone is broken later.
- Will downloading a new iTunes ruin my old iTunes library? I tried connecting my new iPhone 5 to my iTunes but it said that it wouldn't connect because my version of iTunes was really old (from 2010) and I never updated. It said I need to download a new version of iTunes (10.7 onwards) for it to be compatible with my iPhone. But my question is, IF I download a new version of iTunes, will all my old songs on my old iTunes disappear? Because if I had to re-download my whole library, I would seriously cry. That would take the rest of my life.
- Is there any way I can transfer stuff I purchased from iTunes on one account, to a new/other account? Let's say I purchased 30 songs & 3 movies on an account with iTunes (let's call that account, account A) & now, 2 years later, I create a new account (account B) & now I want to keep my old stuff, the 30 songs & 3 movies, is there any possible way I can transfer my purchased items from account A to account B?
- If I disconnect a MetroPCS account and reopen one will I be eligible for new account offers? Okay, so look. I really want the iPhone XR. And MetroPCS has a deal that if you switch from another phone service to them you'll be eligible for a $599 iPhone XR. If i were to suspend my current account and open a new account with Metro, will I be eligible for that offer?
- If I created a new itunes account will it transfer my old purchases? I recently got a new iPhone, and I don't want icloud and all of my old app purchases on my new phone. If I created a new itunes account will it still use my old icloud?
