New SIM card from another country for iPhone?
This summer, I'm going on holiday and in my iPhone 6 I'm going to put a new SIM card in for the country I'm going to however I haven't backed up my phone for ages because I don't have enough storage so when I put the new foreign sim in my phone will I loose all my apps and photos?
No. Doing things with the SIM has nothing to do with the content on the phone.
No you will not lose anything. But before putting a new sim, make sure your phone is unlocked to read foreign sims, because it won't work without it being unlocked. If you're on Verizon network now, then your phone comes unlocked. Yay!
If AT&T, then you can ask them to do it for you, or go to swiftunlocks.com and they will do it for you. I believe they also do T-Mobile, but it's a lot more expensive. As for sprint, you're out of luck unless sprint unlocks it for you.
- When in a contract, can I get a different SIM while in another country? I'm going to china in 15 days and I want an IPhone so I can take pictures and have data while I'm there. I'm staying for an entire month. Getting this IPhone (with either sprint or T-mobile) with put me in a 2 year contract. Will I be able to use my phone while I'm there with the new SIM card I'm buying in China. I heard that my phone will be locked while I'm out of the country or something.
- If iphone 5s is bought in the USA will it work on another country's sim card? - 1 I heard from a friend that if I ordered an Iphone from the USA it won't work on other sim cards.
- If I want to use SIM card for Verizon in foreign country, what kind do I buy? I want to travel to another country. I have Verizon iPhone 7+ in America. What should I know when buying a SIM card in a foreign country to avoid international fees and roaming? Do I have to buy a CDMA SIM card? Will I get a new number? Will I have to download my apps again?
- Does switching stores on iTunes (from country to country) affect the apps? So I downloaded a lot of apps on my iPhone when I was in the US Currently, I'm in Canada and it won't let me switch stores back until my apple music subscription is over. My question is, when I do change back, will I have to redownload all the apps? Also when I want to update the apps would I have to switch back to the US Store?
