No 3g after restoring jailbroken iphone 3gs to factory settings?

Heres the scenario
>bought an iphone 3gs
>it was jailbroken
>removed jailbreak and restored using itunes
>now the phone has no 3g data
Contacted 02 and everything is fine on there end… Even got a new sim to be sure… Reset network settings a million times.drove around 30 miles away from my house and picked up 3g again, but when i went home i lost it again, something about switching mobile mast signals I've seen on forums. Running 6.1.3, completely stumped. I've tried restoring on itunes and setting it up as a new phone with no avail… Thanks for reading, any help is greatly appreciated
If you phone was jailbroken earlier, check the firmware version (Settings > General > About). If it shows an old ipad version, that could be your problem.
I've used a few 3gs phones in the past and have noticed their GPS strength is not as good as the iphone 4 in general. So it may just be time to upgrade!
- Would restoring my iphone to another iphones settings change the imei? Basically i bought a phone from cex about 2 weeks ago and one of the buttons has stopped working. I went into the store and they said they could not fix it because the imei's were not the same. Could i have changed it by restoring it to my old iphone's setting via the restore feature on itunes?
- Will restoring my iPhone to factory settings remove software updates? I currently have 6.1.4 and I want to restore it back to 6.1.2. If I reset to factory, will it set it back to 6.1.2? I really wanna know. Anything helps thanks
- Will restoring my Iphone to facorty settings erase my data? I have upgraded my iphone 4s to the new iOS, and then a few days later, tried connecting my device to my PC ( i have the new itunes).It, however, tells me that it can't connect to my iphone and that i should go to 'Preference' and select to 'restore to factory' settings. Will this erase my data and 'degrade' my phone to the previous iOS?
