Would restoring my iphone to another iphones settings change the imei?
Basically i bought a phone from cex about 2 weeks ago and one of the buttons has stopped working. I went into the store and they said they could not fix it because the imei's were not the same.
Could i have changed it by restoring it to my old iphone's setting via the restore feature on itunes?
No. IMEI is physically built in to every phone to uniquely identify it. There's no way you can accidentally change it.
- Will restoring my iPhone to factory settings remove software updates? I currently have 6.1.4 and I want to restore it back to 6.1.2. If I reset to factory, will it set it back to 6.1.2? I really wanna know. Anything helps thanks
- Will restoring my Iphone to facorty settings erase my data? I have upgraded my iphone 4s to the new iOS, and then a few days later, tried connecting my device to my PC ( i have the new itunes).It, however, tells me that it can't connect to my iphone and that i should go to 'Preference' and select to 'restore to factory' settings. Will this erase my data and 'degrade' my phone to the previous iOS?

- Use IMEI blocked iPhone on another carrier? (Read description first)? The phone was legitimately purchased by me at GameStop. The phone worked for a few seconds and quit on me. By calling 611(the AT&T wireless customer portal), it indicated to me that it's IMEI blocked. I'm using a GoPhone SIM card and was wondering if I could just use T-Mobile instead to use the phone. Edit: I was using an iphone 3G for about a year and then moved my card over to the 4s.
