One of my usb ports isn't working?

So, basically, I was trying to use iTunes to put songs on my iPhone using my desktop. I have a wireless mouse which constantly uses one of the ports. I have to use the only other one to plug in my devices, and it won't work. I have another little usb man thingy that has a lot of different ports that you can plug in and then plug the whole thing into the computer to use 5-6 at a time, but that doesn't work for both the mouse and the iPhone in either of the ports. So right now it's either I use the mouse or I plug the phone in to iTunes, both of which are pointless because I need both to put the music on. How do I fix the port and what's wrong with it and is there any way to use the single port with both?

A usb hub should be powered by a transformer, see if you can find it. Because there ain't enough juice for one usb port to powered the entire hub (the little thingy that has 5-6 usb ports). Or you should buy a ac powered usb hub, it comes with a transformer that you can plug into an outlet. Don't get the self powered hub.

You can set the iphone to sync wirelessly without plugging it in to the usb (the iphone needs to be connected through Wi-Fi to the same network). Or you can set itune to sync automatically when it detects the iphone plugged in. Then you can disconnect the mouse and plug in the iphone and let it sync.

you're computer looks like it dirty in inside, sometimes they caused open loop, you may even see your vent stop working and computer getting heat up, and after cleaning, it works perfect

best advise i would gives you.

if you're not a computer's technician, if you can't report it to the manufacturer to repair it,-try to see if you have a pro computer.technician in your area, try remove some credit in your pocket to fix the open loop of that messed USB, because when using only one USB port in your computer., what if it mess up again? You'll have no port left.

use the mouse and set your iTune to auto detection method to detect your iPhone, otherwise, if keeps using the only port you have, (plug, unplug) continuously it might cause your USB port to mess up, and you'll have no port left. So be sure to protect it because it might be the one who save your computer on crashing process.

I think it's when I was carrying it the other day up to my room and my family member opened the door, it caught the side of the laptop bashing it… The USB port for my mouse doesn't work right and the audio socket only plays out of one earphone. It's not the earphones because I tried them on my iphone/ipod. So it's what happened. What can I do about this?
