Only getting text from iPhones?

I got an iPhone 5 for Christmas. Since I changed phones (I had the 4s) I'm only receiving text from people that have iPhones. If they don't have an iPhone, I'm not getting the text. I have restarted my phone, I have changed my settings, I even googled ideas. Nothing has worked.

Appears your cell phone carrier has disabled your text function! You are getting only iMessages. That is related to your email and not phone number. Call your carrier cuz you might not have permission to change your device without checking with them? Call your carrier!

  • When I text other iPhones why is it sending as a text message? I have an iPhone 4 I was on AT&T and I just switched to straight talk. In my setting I have all the iMessage and everything turned on. Sometimes it will work whenever I text another iPhone but most of the time it won't. I have tried turning the phone off and back on. It's really irritating. If someone could help me that would be great.
  • Is Wi-Fi text messaging from iphones free to non-iphones? - 1 My boyfriend downloaded this texting thing on his iPhone that allows him to text me when he's out of the country without charging him extra for long distance. Will I still be charged if I text him? There's a different number when he texts from Wi-Fi so I will be sure to text that, but will I be charged anyways?
  • Is there any way of getting iPhone 5 for 199$ and getting rid of the contract? I just want the phone and wanna get rid of the contract without paying for it. I know how to unlock the phone so that's not a problem.
  • Is there an iPhone timer app that has a minutes-only and/or a seconds-only option? I'm looking for a timer app on my phone where I can set a timer that counts down, but have it read literal minutes or seconds. Like instead of 6:00:00 for 6 hours, I'd want it to read 240:00 (240 minutes) or just have it read 14,400 seconds. I've downloaded about 20 free timer apps, and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there one? Even if it costs money? But I'd prefer it to be free…
