Other space in iphone, taking up over 2 gigs
This morning, I've been trying to transfer my iphone to my laptop's library, but now all of a sudden the "other" portion is taking up over 2 gigs. I'm really trying to avoid restoring it. I've tried a ton: deleting messages, deleting apps to get rid of their documents and data, clearing my safari cache, but to no avail.
I also just recently downloaded itunes 11.1.1, and I think that the new update may have something to do with it… Anyone else have this problem? If you did, how did you solve it, because this is beginning to frustrate me a lot!
That 2gb is also part of the Operating System that is on your iphone, unfortunately you can't delete it.
- Why is there 3.17 gigs of other on my iPhone? I barely have any apps so the app data isn't taking up much space, I delete my history frequently, and I keep my texts but that can't be taking up *that* much room. I've restored it months ago but it never fixed the problem.
- Why is other taking up so much space on my iPhone? - 1 And more importantly, what can I get rid of to get more space? I've deleted texts, calls, voicemails, emails, photos, songs, safari cookies & data, AND notes. What is going on? It's taking up around 3 GBs (or whatever) and it's killing me.
- Why is other taking up 6.8 of my memory space on my iphone 5? On my iphone 5 "other" is taking up 6.8 of my data… What is this other and how do i reclaim my space? I've tried like resetting my phone and rebacking it up and stuff but nothing happened…
- Why does my iphone have 4 gigs of other stored on it? When I plug my iphone into my laptop it says there's 4.8 gigs of a category called other? What is that and how can I remove it?
