Why don't people save their money?

It annoys me when people always buy the new iphone even though their iphone from the previous year works perfectly well. I don't understand why people can't save and invest in something that builds their assets like property or stocks. What is the point of working hard, then blowing it and going broke again just to buy consumer goods that depreciate like expensive. I'm 20 years old in university and the thought of going broke terrifies me so as a result I have managed to save thousands of pounds.

Can I switch to an unlocked iPhone?

So currently I have an iPhone 5s thru Verizon, but I'm wondering if I were to buy an unlocked iPhone 6 from Apple, would I be able to just take the sim out of my 5s and put it into the 6? Would it work perfectly fine/normal, and my upgrade date wouldn't even have to be moved up either?

How to stop facebook from auto downloading videos on both my PC and iPhone?

I stopped the "autoplay" feature, but the thing is facebook still downloads the videos and eats alot of bandwidth.
I know that because when I click on a video even if i'm not connected to a network it plays without buffering, and whenever i open facebook it slows down my internet drammatically

I got an iPhone 4 from my friend. They forgot the passcode and set it into Disable mode. The screen says to Connect to iTunes. I created an iTunes account, however this is not the same account nor computer as the last. I have tried everything. When I connect the phone to iTunes, it says "To allow access, respond on your iPhone…" which I'm not aware of how to do. My phone also will not enter "Recovery Mode". This IS urgent.
