Why does my new iphone 5 show 4g at the top when I'm supposed to have 16g of data?

Okay so at the top of my phone where it shows the connection signal and time and all that, it either says 4g or LTE. But I'm confused because when I upgraded, the phone guy said I would have 16g of data now instead of 4g like I use to have. So what's the deal? I'm good with technology, but not this kind of understanding haha. If you could help me out, that'd be great.

I'm worried that my iPhone has been hacked?

I just recently got an android phone, but still have my iPhone 5c (but has no service, so it's basically an iPod touch). It's been off in a drawer for about a month, and I've recently turned it on. I was going through my photo album and several bunches of photos (my photos) say that they were taken in Qinghai, China and El Bayadh, Algeria, both of which I've never been to. Should this be a concern? If so, what should I do?

Where can I get a reasonably priced iphone? I'd prefer brand new?

I'm currently on a contract with Verizon and can't upgrade til February. But was thinking maybe some way to buy a phone compatible on Verizon elsewhere at a cheaper cost than what Verizon gives, then just putting it on my contract. If that is even possible. Would probably want a 5s or 6(all depending if there are no issues with them)
