Okay, this is the full story of how the two boys i wished to ask me did. In the same day Sorry for length.
This morning a boy named, lets call him, Pat stopped me and said, "hey stella, do you have a date for prom yet? Here is my application." This is a reference to a joke i made a month ago saying I was now accepting "applications." He then handed me a piece of paper with the cutest application including name, gender, birthday, hobbies, interests, accomplishments. I told him i would review his application and get back to him.
Pat is a nice boy. He's a great student, sweet, sincere, and witty. We have similar senses of humor and have often hung out at sweet sixteen parties because of our lack of dance moves. Pat is a junior and I'm a senior. A friend told me he was planning on asking me for a month and a half.
So at the end of the day, the pa system goes on with a very important announcement. A boy, lets call him Tom, comes on describing how he is going to ask his perspective prom date. He goes on to say how he thought about prom dates and he kept on coming back to one name. He asks all the girls in the forensic class to stand up, and everyone with an iphone to sit down. I'm the only one standing. He then goes, "this is a pre recorded message so I can ask her to her face." He then comes in and asks me to prom.
Tom is a great guy. He is popular, but sometimes misunderstand at school because his humor is misperceived as seriousness. He has much respect for me and treats me kindly. One night I went out to dinner with him and he was a complete gentlemen- opening the doors, paying. He is also a lot of fun and outgoing, goofy like me. He would probably push me at prom to dance and have a good time. Tom is also a senior.
So who do I chose? Reserved, sincere Pat or outgoing, fun Tom? I'm so torn.
Added (1). Pat is still fun. I should probably mention I'm not the biggest party person. Also, Tom told me he had a back up date. Wth?
