How do so many people appear to be rich?

Ok so my dad is in the national top 1 percent of incomes, but he is the only parent working. Still, we should be in the top few percentile. Anyways, we don't even seem that wealthy, we drive semi average cars, our house is about a 7/10 for what it's worth, most of our clothes are inexepensive, we eat at somewhat affordable restaurants, etc.

Yet on the street here, it seems like 10% of the cars are like 80k + brand new. I'm one of the few kids at my school that doesn't have my own car, and I don't have an iphone either. Lots of these kids have $300 jeans, etc. Just the way my parents talk too, they always make it sound like people are so rich, like when they hear of people buying expensive things they always say "maybe they are really rich"?

So what I wonder is, why do people seem so rich compared to statistics? I think its a combination of my parents living well below their means, people financing everything, plus this city is actually quite rich.

Is it wrong for a male to get a white iPhone?

I really like the new silver white iPhone but I've read on some blogs that people consider this to be feminine. I normally prefer black phones but I really just don't like the new space grey colour. So I really want the white and silver one, but my concern is will this de-masculinise me in any way?

I was on IOS 7 beta 6 the last time i checked and now i tried to update to the official ios 7 release but didn't receive any OTA update. So i tried restoring my iPhone 4s and i still am not sure if it's the final version or not, Is there any way to check? Sound quality in 128kbps vs 256kbps in car stereo?

I have a 16GB iPhone and my iTunes library is well over 30GB. I want to download all the music into my phone and the only way I can do that is by choosing to transfer the music as 128kbps (or 192). Will I hear a HUGE difference in sound (treble, bass, etc.) when I'm listening to my music in the car? My car has JBL Green Edge which is the upgraded stereo system for Toyota.
