I can't sync music to my Iphone 5?

I have an iPhone 5 and i can't seem to sync music to it. I've tried everything i can think off and looked all over the internet but nothing seems to work. Someone help please, having no music is killing me.

What happened to my Iphone 3gs? - 1

So I have an Iphone 3gs that is only a month old with no signs of damage at all. My phone was working up until it was charging and suddenly the screen just went black. I tried to do a hard reset by holding down the power and home button for 20 seconds but nothing happened. I also tried to put the phone in DFG mode and still nothing happened. When I plugged the phone into the computer it is unrecognized on itunes and even on device manager, no signs that the computer senses the device. I even restarted my computer while the phone is pulled in and held the power and home button for minutes on end. I tried almost every suggestion on the internet and nothing works. I don't know if the battery is completely dead or what happened but my phone is completely dead.
