If i hand in a blocked iPhone to the Apple store what will they do?

Me and my friend found an iPhone 5 in the bus and it was turned off because it was out of charge so we took it with us and charged it after charging it we noticed the phone was blocked because it say "no service" the phone is on o2 as we checked on settings we're not sure what to do with it sell it for parts because its usless or give it to the Apple store. I'm just curiouse what they will actually do to the iPhone since its blocked and useless?

Switching from iphone to galaxy s4?

I have a jailbroken iPhone 4S and my contract was suppose to end this November, but my mom upgraded her phone to the galaxy s3 a while back so I my upgrade date changed to April 2015… Which is Way too long…

How to get messages from sprint iPhone 4S that was lost, now has no service?

I lost my iPhone 4S (through sprint) a while back, I did get a new replacement, however, when I turned the old phone on I did not receive the text messages I know I had gotten while the phone was lost ( it took about a week or so for me to stop looking and actually purchase a replacement.) I know I had some rather important texts coming in and now have no idea how I can retrieve them. It's set up to Wi-Fi, but has not shown any missed texts, and I do know for a fact I had been sent quite a few during this time. Any way to view them or get them back without going to sprint?
