For reasons I won't get into (and probably don't need to) after my phone went and updated to iOS6 last week, I've tried giving it a shot but it's definitely not working outs. I'm looking to downgrade back to iOS5 but I'm having trouble figuring out how even after all the internet searches I've just attempted.
My phone is not jailbroken, nor do I want it to be. It's an iPhone 4 (GSW or whatever the three letter anagram is). I own a PC running on Windows Vista. I managed to download an iOS51.1.ipsw file from osXdaily but I have no idea what to do with it. The instructions on the website are entirely vague and might only be in reference to a Mac OS anyways. I did as much as I could by their instructions (putting the phone into DFU mode to start with) but when it got to the step of restoring to iOS51.1.ipsw, I had no idea what to do.
Please Help. This iOS6 is ridiculous and though I'm normally a very patient person, a week with it has be gritting my teeth and giving myself a headache just by thinking about all the inconveniences, troubles, etc. It's been causing me.
