I want to get an iPhone but without buying a data plan, so I was considering finding an unlocked iPhone and activating it on my plan.
However, I'm realizing that I don't exactly understand the concept of "unlocked"… LOL.
So can someone help me out and explain what it means to have an unlocked iPhone?

I want a case that is protective like an otter box but I don't like how bulky it is. I know the bigger the more protective but are there any that are decent in protecting but not too bulky for pretty cheap? (Like under 30$)
My girlfriend just got an iPad for XMAS and I have a limited data plan and I'm always on Wi-Fi on my iPhone and you can only use Wi-Fi over Wi-Fi. I just started using FaceTime for the first time with her since she's out of town and I just noticed when I check the details on the call it says how much memory each called used. Do you know if this used my network data or is just stating the data that was used over Wi-Fi?
Added (1). I just turned off my usage of any cellular data over Wi-Fi in my settings just to be safe for any future incidences.
I have the regular iphone 4, not the S. & i have the 5.1 update already, but i'm to scared to update my phone cause i have many valuable picutres! Will the iOS 6.01 delete anything? I backed up everything on itunes with icloud!
Paid 400 for phone.

Ok so in the past 48 hours I've received and also been drawn to ads that are advertising free beats headphones and free iPhone 5's, and I've answered several of them in the past 36 hours but I just wanted to know if any of them are even real?
