Small display, no expandable memory, no removable battery, & the maps will get you lost… I'm returning it tomorrow

Is it true that you don't need to pay for internet (since you have to have Wi-Fi around to use it if it's unlocked apparently) or any of that stuff that's required on the data plan? I've been wanting one for a while, but my parents can't afford the plan. Also, would it be recommended to buy one on ebay? My parent's plan is verizon, by the way, and I also heard that apple is selling unlocked iphones for a tremendous price.
I've tried everything. I downloaded an app on my iPhone, I used my computer to play the online one, I made one out of paper. Now I think I should buy one but everyone says you don't have to. And I don't wanna waste my money if it doesn't work, what am I doing wrong? I 100% believe it will work and I believe in just about everything. I start out by asking if anyone's there and nothing moves. Help? And don't tell me not to play. I don't care about your experiences, I've heard them all before. I'm still playing.

I have an iPhone 4.It's 5.1.1… I'm completely illiterate when it comes to my phone. It's unlocked to any gevey sim thingy or whatever it's called (all I know is that it can take any kind of sim card). I was just wondering if I can update it without my phone being relocked? Has anyone tried it before?
So I had an iPhone 4S 32GB, and I didn't have iCloud, or the find my phone app. It was stolen, and I had no way of getting it back. Now that the iPhone 5 came out, I got the iPhone 4S, but is 16GB. (They stopped making bigger sizes) Now that I have a phone I took all precautions and added iCloud. Now that I look at it, I don't need iCloud so much as just the find my iPhone app. It takes up 5 GB, and I could use that for other apps, or videos. Is there a way to get rid of iCloud so I have zero storage/ back up on iCloud, and an extra 5GB capacity on my phone? I don't need it at all anymore.
I'm trading someone my PSP 1000 that no longer reads memory sticks for his old iphone 3g 8GB. I'm looking for something to use as an apple-style mp3 player. Would it be a good trade?
With the PSP I'm giving him a carrying case, charger, and a few games because he bought me lunch.
With the iPhone, he's giving me a hard case, a charger, and a pair of skullcandy lowriders.
Would you consider this wise or should i give less?

I did a restart a couple of times. It doesn't work. So now when someone calls me or when I all them I have to put it on speaker. And it doesn't make sounds. It doesn't ring. At all.
