People at work make fun of me for having an older iPhone?
I work in an office and a lot of the people here are immature, I have an iPhone 5, I'm not really a big tech person, my iPhone 5 makes phone calls and lets me use the internet and that's all I really need, it works fine. People always tell me that it's old and stuff just because they have the newest iPhone, I've had mine for 6 years now and I think it's good that I don't waste money on a new phone every year if it still works but they call me poor and stuff. How should I deal with something like this? What are good comebacks?
You do the same job as them, so if you're poor, so are they. Lol Just tell them you're not a 12 year old girl, the newest iPhone doesn't matter to you. Phones went from a convenient communication device to a fashion accessory at some point. It's kinda gay really. I have an iPhone 6 and it works just fine for me. Even older guys at my work spend like $1000 on iPhones an it's ridiculous. My phone does all the same basic stuff, except it cost me $850 less. Phones have become this girly trend. It's hilarious. There's no shame in being smarter than them by using an older phone.
Honestly you don't need a comeback. I use a flip phone all the time, and I'm in the upper middle class. Using the newest model of an iPhone is just distracting. Really truly, you should only need a phone to call for business or personal reasons. Or at least, that's what I believe. Plus, the model doesn't really make a difference, honestly. Just ignore them and move on.
I'm with you, I have an iPhone 6, and as long as it's working, why spend $1000 on a new phone? I'd ask why it's so important to them what phone you have. I don't spend my life looking at the screen all day; too many other things to do. Just because someone has money, doesn't mean they have to spend it. What you do with your money is no one's business but yours. Sounds like a catty, immature group to be around…
You are more than the latest and greatest gadget out there. One's life is NOT defined by the stuff they have, but rather the way they live Life on a daily basis. No need to defend yourself, you are miles ahead of them. Be Blessed young one.
Between you and me they are dumb for keeping up
- Would you make fun of someone because they got the iPhone 5c? I wanna get the iPhone 5c but i'm worried what people will say about me that I'm poor and i can't afford the regular iPhone. Would you make fun of someone if they had the 5c?
- Would there be a benefit of having bluetooth 4.0 if some devices use older versions? I have the iPhone 5 which supports BLE 4.0 and also own a pebble watch which also supports 4.0. My car however only supports bluetooth 1.2. Does this mean I will not experience the battery benefits of BLE since I will still need to connect to my car which is on the older 1.2 version of bluetooth?
- Will they make iOS7 compatible with older products? I have a 4th gen iPod, and an iPhone 3GS (I was in need of a phone, it's not all that bad) but do you think they will make iOS7 suitable for even my iPod? My friend has it on her iPhone 5 and I like it, but I'm not a technical genius in any way, just a simple question.
- Why do teens make fun of me for not having an iPhone? I can afford an iPhone but i choose not to buy one because i'm very clumsy so i have a flip phone. Someone in class walked around asking for an iPhone charger to borrow and i said i don't have one and they said "oh yeah… That's because you don't have an iPhone" The tone in which that person said it really bothered me but i didn't say anything back. Does she think she's better than me because she has an iPhone?
