Phantom IPhone Messages Notifications?
My messages app shows 2 unread messages in the red circle on the app icon. I have no unread messages. I've restarted the app and the phone. No luck getting rid of it.
This has happened to me before… The solution? Go into Messages and delete everything including "unread messages". Even if you've read all your messages, on occasion there are some messages that pop up out of nowhere and you do miss them. This method has 100% always worked for me. If you like when it asks if you definitely want to delete everything, you can choose "Delete all except unread messages" and then it will only show you the message you failed to read. Also, just a piece of advice: even if you're able to read the entire message on your lock screen, it's always best to open the physical app to get the notification to disappear.
This happens to me all the time! Just double tap the home button, completely quit the app (if you have iOS 7, swipe the Messages app away. If you're on iOS 6, tap the "x") then open the Messages app again and the texts should be there!
- Why won't read messages disappear from my notifications tab? I've had the iPhone 6s for exactly two weeks now, and I'm continuously having this problem. One or two random texts messages a week won't disappear from my notifications tab, even after I read it. I click remove, it stays. I slide to the left and click the x or reply, and it's still there. After I turn the phone off and on it goes away, but I don't want to have to keep doing that. Any suggestions? Is this happening to anyone else?
- Why won't my iPhone 6s Plus send iMessages and gets no notifications for messages? IMessage and notifications are on but it's still broken. I tried resetting my phone like its brand new and updated my phone and pretty much everything else and still nothing. Any ideas? It stopped working about two days ago
- Why do iPhone messages come up as picture messages on other phones? When my friend sends me texts, she has an iphone, they come up as picture messages and i can't revieve them on my phone because my plan doesn't cover picture messages. Can she change the settings so it won't come up as a picture?
- When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
