Right phone company and or plan?

My daughter wants to lease her iphone however she will be leaving our family plan and company to do so and I'm worried about her monthly phone bill being too high. She makes two hundred a month and I don't want to switch phone companies. Is there anyway or plan she can get on that won't be so high for her?

She needs to get over the idea of an IPhone. She needs to make her own choice, pay with her own money & YOU should not bail her out if she screws up.

Depends on what model of iPhone she's looking for. The 7 runs about 25-30ish a month on most carriers' financing (plus the service plan costs of course). If she's fine with an older iphone, you can get the 5 and 6 pretty cheap on Consumer Cellular now. Alternatively you could find an unlocked one online (though there's obviously an upfront cost to this) and get a sim kit for a prepaid provider that allows BOYD.

Her phone bill is going to be too high if it is over $50 total for the phone and her plan. How do I know this, if she is anything like more teens or 20 somethings, she has not saved a dime since she could crawl, so that $200 a month she makes at her job, is not going to cover a phone, and plan, especially if she has not credit and is forced to pay a deposit for a post paid account. And since she never saves, she will spend her month before the phone bill is due most months. Putting her behind and sooner or later in default.

Now if she has money saved up, her best bet would be the pay for the phone outright, and then only worry about paying her plan. If she is getting an iPhone, AppleCare Plus should be considered before partying.
