Phone or internet problem?

For the last month or so I've had an issue with accessing the internet on my phone (an Iphone 6).while connected to my home's Wi-Fi network. Every other device connected to our home Wi-Fi network works perfectly fine, and my phone also works correctly when connected to any other Wi-Fi network I've tried (places like starbucks, friends houses etc.). To clarify, my phone will say it is connected to out Wi-Fi network, but I can rarely access any sites. I don't know if it matter at all but we have wave broadband.

Check for router firmware updates

If you haven't made any changes to the router or your phone and they used to work then you are probably experiencing a Wi-Fi compatibility issue.

Your ISP connection won't be the problem as Wi-Fi does NOT come from the ISP. It originates in the router. If it works with other devices in your home, and the phone works on other networks, then compatibility issues are the most likely cause. Based on my own experiences with my network and those of my friends, this type of problem affects between 2% and 5% of router/device pairs. In many cases, the connection is just slower than it should be and people do not realise.

Try changing the wireless channel your router is using. A new nearby network could be interfering with your network. This sort interference can affect one device while other devices have no problems.

If that does not solve the issue, you may have to use a different Wi-Fi source either by adding a Wireless Access Point to your network, or by doing what I have done to get my Asus laptop working on my network. I connect to my router's Wi-Fi through a Wi-Fi Range Extender (a TL-WA850RE).
