Photos back to my memory card?
I have a photo printer where all you have to do is plug in your SD card and print them out. Much easier than going to Walgreens or something and cheaper for me too. However, I take most of my pictures on my iPhone so I want to put a bunch on my memory card so I can print them out. However, when I try dragging the picture files to the memory card it pretty much blocks me out. I've even tried exporting them. I've read online it's possible to do this so I don't know why it's not working for me. I know I can always go to Walgreens but that's my last resort. Any advice would be a huge help.
Maybe the card has been maxed out on memory. Try storing the pics on a computer or something and then try moving more. If not, try changing the picture file type to a different file type.
There's a lot unknown here. How are you trying to put the photos on the memory card? With the card in the computer either through an SD card slot or card reader? Where did this SD memory card come from? Is it a card you have used in a camera?
First things first. A memory card is not designed to function as a place to store data in the sense of a hard drive or USB flash drive. The memory card is FORMATTED to a particular device, and is there to receive data FROM THAT DEVICE. Now, if you take photos from your phone, download them into your computer, no, you are not going to be able to move them onto that memory card, … At least not easily.
You can do it, SOMETIMES, but you have to be sure and name the photos EXACTLY as they are done by the camera WHERE THE CARD WAS USED and in the proper sequence.
So say for instance, the camera labels a photo as such:
IMG_7657.jpg
To drop more photos onto the card, you will have to number them in the computer as such:
IMG_7658.jpg, IMG_7659, IMG_7660, … Etc.
Your new photo name and number must begin higher than the last photo that was named by the camera.
But wait, … There's more!
You will also have to insert the photo into the same FOLDER on the memory card from which it came. We will say it is folder number 146.
When you load photos BACK onto the card from the computer, along with naming and numbering the photo correctly, you will also have to place the photo back in folder number 146.
An alternative to this that MIGHT work is to do a FORMAT of the SD card in the computer. Normally, you NEVER should format a memory card in a computer, you only do it in the camera. In this case, however, doing a format in the computer MAY work for you. You will be "marrying" the SD card to the computer, and thus the file numbering done by a camera should be of no concern. However, you will have to use this particular SD card ONLY in the computer for such use with your phone photos and printer. You will have to do a format of the card in the computer each time you are through making the prints on your printer. Your phone also creates file numbers, … But if you only use the card in the computer and only with your phone, I *think* it will work for you.
But again, this is all NOT how a memory card is supposed to function.
Your printer is designed to take the SD memory card directly from a camera using the SD card, inserted into the printer directly from the camera, and prints made. Trying to mix the phone photos into the equation is naturally going to cause problems.
Hope all that makes some sense to you, or at least gives you some insight as to why you are having problems.
