Photos from a water damaged iPhone 5?

I accidentally put my iPhone 5 through the wash and now it doesn't work. Won't even turn on. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know if there's a way to retrieve my photos from the device at all?

I doubt it. Unless you backed them up somewhere on your computer or a cloud server, they're lost.

you could ask Apple if they can recover your files for a fee. But they may not even be able to do so.

Icloud, but only if you kept it backed up

If you backed up your iPhone to your computer or the cloud, you are safe

Probably not, especially if you have a passcode on the phone. You'd have to remove the storage chips, and if there's a passcode even that might not work because the data is encrypted with the passcode and the phone's unique identifier.

You have to fix it, then you can turn on it.copy the pics

You can't if it doesn't turn on

  • Water damaged IPhone 4s. Is there hope? Today I idiotically fell into a pool with my iPhone in my pocket. It was submerged for about three seconds and afterward there was no display but it would still vibrate at messages and calls. I shook the water out of it immediately but I couldn't get it in rice for about 20 mins. I took out thr sim card and managed to turn off my phone and I'll let it sit in the rice for 24-48 hours. Is this just a lost cause or is there actually hope in me reviving my "child"

  • Water damaged iphone 4 won't turn on, how to get photos from it? I have tried everything for my iphone 4 to work after i dropped it down the toilet but now it has completely broken and won't switch on at all, comes up with the apple logo then disapears and keeps doing it. • Recovering photos from a water damaged iPhone X? I recently got back from a trip and on it my phone accidentally went snorkeling with me in the sea. It's completely dead (doesn't turn on or show any forms of life, iTunes doesn't even recognize it when plugged in to my computer). I was in Cuba with no access to Wi-Fi meaning iCloud couldn t back up my phone on the trip. Because of this, I lost all my photos of the trip. I (clearly) know my chances are basically nell, but does anyone know of any software or store that could help?
