Photoshop Mockup / Virtual Modeling
I have recently begun to sell my own brand of cell phone cases. I recently took some pictures of some of them with my Canon T3i DSLR. Now, I have been trying to develop some sort of catalog or advertisement depicting my cases in different angles and colors they are available in. Although the pictures are of descent quality, when you compare it to the pictures of websites like OtterBox or Casemate, it seems like either they took amazing pictures of actual cases, or made a realistic mockup on photoshop. I own Photoshop CS6 and have been playing around with iPhone 5 mockups so I can use them later for display purposes as if it was on the case. However this is my major issue, I'm not sure how I can convert or make this case in photoshop, so that the quality is much better. Any Ideas? All Help IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I'm pretty sure that those Otter cases are not photographs but 3D models (which is how they get the different colours in the same position) - there are a number of softwares that can do that work (Blender is available free) they have the benefit of rotating them to view in any angle, and can help resolve manufacturing issues.
You could do the colour change in Photoshop by changing curves there are other indications that the shots are modelled.
For your shots I would first make sure I had the best shots possible - the first thing a professional photographer considers is lighting. You could make a stand to support the case away from the background (to loose some of the focus on the background), then light the background so that it is entirely white, then separately light the product from all sides (or above) to prevent a shadow.
Depending on how you make the stand you can then rotate the case to allow accurate three-quarter views.
With your case shot of the pink reverse you could cut it out using the pen tool and delete/replace the background (try putting it on a simple linear gradation) on a separate layer. You can then change the levels or curves on the case layer to change strengthen the colour.
But that is working the wrong way round - the better the original the easier it is to make it look perfect.
- Who can I become a virtual assistant for? I love technology. Apple, android, samsung, htc, xbox, windows, blackberry, iPod ipad iphone. Just about anything from smartphones to computers.
- What is the best virtual machine software for Linux? I use Linux Kubuntu and I hated virtual box it didn't work hardly at all I tried to run iTunes in it and connect my iPhone and it wouldnt recognize it or anything. I would like to use XP as the virtual machine OS.
- What is the best free app mockup tool? I would like to transfer my iPhone app idea from my 10 sheets of paper to a pc. What is the simplest, best, free software out there?
- What are some fun free virtual games for the iPhone 4? I really want some fun virtual games! Particularly like Yoville. Where you create your own life and things like that. I've looked everywhere, but I can't really find anything. Also most of the games I play aren't the full version.
