Added (1). I now have a Nikon D3100, but this was before.

Pleasant snapshot of a pretty flower. It is sharp and in focus. The rule of thirds would have improved the composition, although there are times when centering works. It is almost impossible to offer any real "critique" on beginner work, particularly when it comes from a phone and you have little or no control over the result.

Using a phone as a camera restricts what you can do, so you will have to depend on lighting and composition to make your photos good. So begin learning some guidelines on composition and practice seeing good light. Here is a link to get you started:

I use my celcam a lot for snapshots, makes it easy to share on FB with friends and family. But if you want to really learn the basics of photography, you will need a user adjustable camera with manual and semi-automatic modes. Have fun and happy shooting!

Continue using your iPhone camera to study composition and the art side of photography because it is a lot more mobile. Being easier to use, you don't have to worry about settings. Just because it's an inferior camera doesn't mean it's useless.

Then use your Nikon to set up mind blowing concepts.

The flower: The best thing going for it is eye path. The lines of the floor boards direct the eyes from top left to bottom right. First we see a flower, then a petal. This invokes the thought "Why is the petal alone?" You should crop an inch off the left and bottom for a better frame (rule of thirds) so the flower is not centered.
