Be honest is this kinda weird?
I have this app on my iPhone & it's like a 2nd "contact book" & I like to keep contacts of people I rarely speak to & various phone numbers from old doctors dentists etc from my previous town just in case I ever had to get a hold of them or needed someone's number. Is this strange? My husband seems to think it's very odd.

No, it's not odd at all. Like having contact groups in Outlook or other programs. It makes total sense to keep contacts you might need, but not wanting them grouped with your other contacts because there's no need to have to scroll past them all the time looking for contacts you need more frequently.
Your husband doesn't need to feel it's a good idea, for it to be something acceptable and working well for you.
