Suggest a way to Unlock an iPhone 5c locked to sprint?

I have bought an iPhone 5c off eBay that is apparently locked to Sprint, a carrier from the USA. From research, I have discovered many complaints of sprint refusing to unlock other locked phones. The ebayer that I bought the iPhone from does not know how the phone got locked. Is there a chance a rebel sim can help? Do I have to factory unlock it? And can someone please recommend a place to unlock my iPhone, preferably in Sydney, Australia?

True Sprint doesn't unlock them but only for international use. Problem is you're not the original owner so they will not talk with you. You'll have to purchase unlock software and attempt that way unless you can find a shop local. There are several online to choose from but check the reviews to see if they are legit. Here's an example of one. Best luck.

Sounds like you bought a stolen phone. If the person who sold you the phone can't unlock it, that is because it was not their phone to sell. Interestingly, all of the cell phone service providers in Australia are GSM and moving to LTE. Sprint is a CDMA service provider - and moving to LTE. The iPhone 5 family can do LTE.

The phone lock is not a Sprint issue. It is a legal issue. If the phone can't be used after being stolen, the theory is that there won't be a market and fewer phones will get stolen. Another SIM will not unlock it. That phone is a brick and you got ripped off.

  • Which unlock sim card can unlock Sprint iPhone 5c? I heard about the R-SIM 9 Pro I want it to unlock this iPhone 5c http://vod.ebay.com/vod/FetchOrderDetails?ViewPaymentStatus&transid=1391699344012&itemId=221458935071&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:VPS
  • Which iPhone would you suggest? Okay. I'm possibly switching phone companies and if I do I want to get an iPhone, the thing is I'm not sure which one to get. I mean, if money were absolutely no object, I'd probably go for the iPhone 5, but I do have to watch the money.So. Would any of you suggest the iPhone 4, 4s, or 5? If so, which one and why?
  • Is there a way I can unlock an iPhone 5s if it's password and iCloud locked? I've tried restoring it by using iTunes but I can with it being iCloud protected. Do I have other options or a place I can take it to have it fully restored? I'd appreciate it, thank you.
  • I need to factory unlock an iPhone 4S I bought online, originally locked to Sprint? Does anyone know from experience of a place that factory unlocks for a reasonable price? Please no comments on how I shouldn't have bought a phone online, I just need info on getting it unlocked so it can be used overseas. I tried calling Sprint and they said the original owner had to call in, but I can't get ahold of him anymore, however they stated it is unlockable.
