Plugging your iPhone into a different computer?

I have an iPhone 4 but I need to update the software on it but obviously I need to do that from iTunes. My problem is that the laptop I normally connect it to is all slow so it takes me like half an hour to switch it on. I wanted to know if I download iTunes on another laptop and connect my phone to it, would it wipe my songs and apps? If so, how do I stop that from happening?

You have to go to store options >authorise computer >then plug in & update

I think you can update your iphone without a computer. Try settings>general>software update.

Unfortunately, unless the new laptop has all the items currently on your iphone it will, as it will backup before restoring. You'll have to download all your apps onto your new laptop, and transfer all the songs. (Any paid for apps can be redownloaded onto your new laptop totally free once you sign in using your itunes log in, and search for the app. Any songs purchased from itunes will be placed onto your new laptop once you log in with your itunes details, also totally free) Any songs not purchased from itunes will be lost unless you can back them up from your old laptop onto an external harddrive, then transfer them once you connect the external harddrive to your new laptop. Basically you need to transfer all the content to the laptop you want to use, before you can download software using it.

Connect your iphone and recovery the data back to your iPhone, if you like PC Suite can make things

easier, and here is the place you can get it for free
