Possibly in possession of stolen property?
I bought this iphone from a kid in school. I bought it for the purpose of buying and selling it. Later I realized that it was probably stolen. My locker was searched and the school confiscated it and question me about it. I told them this. They were under the impression I stole it. The police officer told me they were going to check if it had been reported stolen. Hypothetically, say it hasn't. The police officer comes back to me and tells it hasn't been reported stolen. What would probably happen at this point if they find out who originally owns the phone, and I bought it from a 3rd party, and the original owner thinks that they lost it?
Get some proof you got it from the other guy. Then he will be the one responsible maybe you could get your money back if they get his parents involved. You could try doing that thing where you have a secret recorder in your jacket pocket and record him saying I sold you the phone but it's your problem now (if he won't admit it ).unfortunately that sucks for you because you will probably have to give the phone back to the original owner. And you probably won't get your money back from either party sorry about your luck good luck man
They'll question the owner of the phone. If the owner says they lost it, not that it was stolen, then they give it back to the owner. If the owner says they sold it, it's yours.
You could still be charged with posssion of stolen property…
The person you bought the phone from could still be charged with Theft and selling stolen property.
The reason why is:
If the person who owned the phone actually lost it, then that means the person you bought the phone from was the one that found it…
When a person finds something that doesn't belong to them (like a cell Phone) they are required by law to turn over to the police so the owner can be notified or if its found in a school they are required to turn it in to the offiece so the owner can be found.
If they just keep the phone then its considered a theft because it doesn't belong to them and they can be charged with the crime.
- Would this be considered a breach of intellectual property? If an iPhone repair company registered the domain "iChipped.com", while another iPhone repair company operating in the same geographic area already used the domain "iCracked.com" Aren't the words chipped and cracked used interchangeably?
- Where do random lost property go? Example, if a bunch of kids were play fighting and one of their iPhones fell underneath the car behind the tire and they never found it. Where do i hand it in to? I was thinking the police station or the council.
- Where can I watch Heavens Lost Property OVA? I like ecchi that shows actual nudity like Highschool of the dead and Maken-Ki and I've been looking for Help that is uncensored and is english DUBBED. Where can I watch it free on my iPhone?
- Pressing charges for damaged property? I was recently over at a friends house, when her and her boyfriend started fighting he ended up taking MY iPhone and throwing it out the front door shattering my screen and my camera doesn't work. He won't give me the money to get a new phone so I wanna press charges and force him to pay me. Is this possible, if so how do you go about doing it?!
