Problem trying to update iOS 7 Beta? - 1
I'm having some trouble installing iOS 7 unofficial beta there was a leak and I've done this before but for some reason this time I'm getting an error saying The iPhone ___ could not be updated because the firmware file is not compatible. I don't understand why this is happening someone please help. (I do have a developers account but that doesn't work either.
I would suggest you to go visit an apple store and they should help you out. Maybe call them if you have no apple stores in your area
The reason, it is not working is, because you have used an unofficial beta, which really shouldn't matter. The only thing that you really need to do is register your UDID with apple. Otherwise it won't verify with apple and work. There are 2 ways to register the UDID,
one is get a developer account, and pay $99
The other way is to get someone to register it for you, there are many site that do it for you, they do charge usually $10. Here is the one I used and it did work.http://regmyudid.com/
I just used it today and it worked.
While you should only be installing the beta if your phone's UDID is registered on a developer account which does cost around 10 dollars, i'm selling them for 7, i don't believe thats what your error is referring to. You most likely do not have the correct.ipsw for your device. Make sure its for your phone. If you have the iPhone 5 there's two different models and two different ipsw files out there. To check your model you look on the back of your for and there should be A129 or A128 both different models. If its a 4s there should only be one ipsw out there.
if you need your UDID registered you can message me on here and ill see you a slot for 7.00. I'm using paypal for payments.
Just spoke to Apple store and they said you do not have to do anything to upload the update. It is just that there are so many people trying to update that it may give erroneous failure reasons when all you have to do is wait until another less hectic time and try again.
- Trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 beta 5, but not updating? I downloaded the iOS 7 beta 5 CDMA file off of ios7stuff.com and I tried updating my phone with the file and my iTunes has been saying "Verifying updated iPhone software" for almost 20 minutes, and my phone screen turned black with the Apple and updating status bar but the update isn't starting. Help! and I do not have a UDID I also have been using iOS 7 beta 3 for a while but it didn't update to beta 4 or 5 which is why I tried downloading beta 5 directly.
