Proxy Server isn't Responding?

So I was looking for a way to watch episodes of an old tv show online downloaded something, couldn't find what I downloaded and got a virus on my moms computer that got ads whenever you clicked on a new top or refreshed a page etc in internet explorer… She doesn't know I got it and I want to keep it that way. So hoping to remove it I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a scan, and then clicked remove 35 detected threats, besides the ones I told it to remove as a threat.

now when I click internet explorer it, says proxy server isn't responding, well I'm sure that there isn't even a proxy server on her laptop.
by the way i'm using my school laptop. To post this. Anyways it says this:

The proxy server isn't responding

check your proxy settings 127.0.0.1:13948

and she needs Wi-Fi on her laptop to transfer her old data to her new iphone. So please help me get rid of this proxy server isn't responding stuff.

The IP address 127.0.0.1 is the "local host" so the system is trying to talk to itself on port 12948. I assume your local system is NOT a proxy server, so this won't work.
Try disabling the Proxy Server in Internet Explorer.
You can Google "How to disable Internet Explorer Proxy Server" to find instructions, but basically just:
* Start Internet Explorer
* Open Tools-> Internet Options
* Go to Connections tab, then click LAN settings
* In LAN settings under Proxy server, make sure the Use a proxy server box is unchecked

  • Why isn't my internet on my laptop working? DNS server? My internet on the home computer is working and my iPhone is working as well. On my laptop it says that I'm connected to my network. However, when I try to open up Chrome or Firefox, it won't connect to any pages. Chrome keeps saying that DNS server isn't available. Does anyone know hwo to help?

  • My iPhone 5s isn't responding I have a iphone 5s and it seems that my phone isn't responding when I click/touch it. When I open my phone I try to slide or open a app. And if I do open the app it will just freeze and i can't do anything. I can't even double click and slide up because it won't slide up!
  • My iphone 4s has a black screen, and isn't responding? I tried holding the power button because I figured it needed to be charged (had like 3 percent) but it didn't respond. Any ideas on what's wrong?
