Rear ports in a Pioneer deh-1850 radio?

I got this car radio/CD player for free and noticed it has red and white inputs in the back, and i was wondering if i'm able to connect it with a music player (iPod/iPhone)
So far i have tried 2 audio cables and they haven't connected with my phone. Do i need a different type of cable?

If you're stereo has a red and white cable port in the back it is not for your iPod. They are RCA cord plug ins. If you buy an amp. You use RCAs to connect it to you're stereo and that's what their uses for. If your stereo doesn't have a USB or aux on the face of you're radio you will not be able to use your iPod. Use you're cigarette lighter. Either get one of the radio plug in ones, or require you're lighter to you're radio. Then plug in a USB into the cigarette lighter. Use YouTube to figure it out

  • Will this Pioneer head unit fit in my 2005 Honda Civic EX? I just bought a 2005 Honda Civic EX as my first car and wanted to get a better set up where I could hook my iPhone up to. I was looking at this Pioneer head unit and was wondering if it would fit in the car. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-X6500BT If it would fit, how much would it cost to install? I'm 16 and can't install it myself unfortunately, so I would need to pay somebody to do it.

  • Will iPhone 5 work with Pioneer AVH-P3300BT? I'm looking at buying the iPhone 5 (Verizon) and I have a Pioneer AVH-P3300BT car stereo installed. Other than getting the cord adapter, will the phone sync in with the car stereo?
  • Why does my Pioneer car deck skip? I have a DEH-X6500BT. When I use it for Pandora, it doesn't skip, but when I plug my iPhone into it (or use the bluetooth connectivity) it will start playing a song for a while (usually around a minute and thirty seconds), and then I hear a whoosh, the song gets muffled, and it skips to the next song. What's up with this?
