Recommendations for a digital camera? - 1
Added (1). I have the canon s95 a really good camera for the price. I got it as a gift about 5 yrs ago. Well I was looking at some of my recent pictures of my s95 and a newer iPhone two of my brothers have and the s95 seems to be getting outdated. I'm looking for something smaller, HD quality and long battery life if possible a built in plug and charge as the s95 doesn't have this feature I have to charge the battery pack itself then install.
Buy a DSLR if you can afford it. It takes better photos than a cheap 'normal' camera, switches on faster and gives you more creative control.
Less than $100 and know nothing but press the button?

Something that would make you look like you know more than just press the button?

What if you want to learn more than just press the button?

Much more than that?

That was way too much, let's get back to reality and go smaller but equally serious?

Not what you feel so let's go back to the very first one but you have lots of money to throw away?

Most cameras don't have internal charging systems. It's actually not a feature that you'd want. Say, for example, you're taking some very important photos and your battery dies. Do you prefer to A) Stop taking photos for a few hours while your camera is plugged into a wall socket. Or B) Use your spare battery and continue shooting while the exhausted battery is being charged by the external charging unit.
It's because of this scenario that having an internal charging system is highly undesirable.
I'm surprised that you're looking for something smaller since the S95 is already very compact.
"HD quality" is not a photographic term. It's a video term indicating that the video is 1920 x 1080 pixels which is about 2MP. So I'm sure HD quality isn't what you're looking for, or at least the term you should be using. To see how each camera compares in image quality, go to http://www.dpreview.com/...f=mainmenu
Typically when buying a tool, any tool, you need to know your intended uses for that tool. Being small and with an internal charger isn't exactly explaining how you're going to be using the camera. What are your needs? What do you like to take photos of? Having a camera that allows you to capture the types of shots that you want to take is far more important than its size of charging system.
To make your shopping easier, I highly suggest skipping amazon.com because they have too many 3rd-party retailers, so when you do a search, you get tens of thousands of hits. Go to a camera site like B&H or adorama - both are great. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...4288586279
It'll be a lot easier to find what's on the market since they carry every camera made. And with their tools on the left, you can quickly and easily narrow your search results down to just a few.
I'd skip Samsung which has discontinued their camera division entirely. Kodak is not a good brand either. Stick with Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, or Fujifilm.
To get the best camera, buy the one with the largest sensor within your budget. Cameras with 1/2.3" sensors are going to produce an image quality that's on par with smartphones.
To beat iPhones and top notch Androids today you need to start with a camera that has at least a 1" sensor.
I think the one that occupies the enthusiast niche today that your S95 occupied back then would be the Canon GX-7

(No I don't have shares in that firm… They're just very good at what they offer.
Cameras with fixed batteries are a very bad idea. Get one that lets you carry a spare battery, then you'll be able to get around 1000 shots. The chargers work from mains or car SSB sockets.
- Why doesent my digital camera focus like my iphone 5s? My iphone 5s will focus up close and blur the background and stuff like that but my GE X600 won't do anything like that
- Which camera is better: An old General Imaging x500 Digital Camera or an iPhone 7 front camera? It looks like an iPhone only offers 7 MP while this camera boasts 16 MP but this camera is so old and looks worse at least on its own screen. I'm confused
- What gives better quality of a picture: Iphone 4s camera or normal digital camera? Please need an advice soon thank you guys I've gol Olympus u1060 it has 10 megapixels and i'm not a fan actually of this camera
- Should I get iphone 5 or a digital camera? I'm undecided I don't know if to buy the iphone 5 or those big Canon digital cameras. What would you pick?
