Restore from jailbroken iPhone?
Okay I'm really not savvy with these kinds of things. And was very nervous about jailbreaking. But to the point. I made sure I backed up my iphone on itunes. I successfully jailbroke and I decided I'm not happy with it. So I decided to backup to restore everything from before. I plugged in my phone but it automatically started to back up while still being jailbroken. I canceled it. But is it too late? If I back it up will it still be jailbroken? I know I could start fresh from a new phone but. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do that. I don't have anything on icloud either so don't ask about that. Sorry for being uneducated in this topic. But that's what you're here for! ^-^

If you backed it up, it would have to be backed up from a date from before you jailbroke your phone. So check on that. If it is on the same date you just have to back it up and wish for the best. If your phone is still jailbroken, then you have to restore your phone back to its original settings (sorry!)
Don't worry, even if you backup after doing the jailbreak, you can restore it anytime and the jailbreak will be gone. In other words the jailbreak and any Cydia-installed things are not backed-up.
- Why can't I restore my jailbroken iPhone 4? I jailbroke my iphone 4 using redsn0w 0.9.10.b6. This was a semi tethered jailbreak and i have turned my phone on and off. I now want to completely remove the jailbreak by restoring my iphone. But iTunes brings up an error- 'firmware not compatible'. I was wondering how i can get past this? (by the way i'm trying to remove it because it no longer works when i download the jailbreak tool- as i deleted it ages ago)

- What can I do to restore my Unlocked & Jailbroken iPhone 3g? I recently got the phone. I tried to erase everything on the phone while it was near death, and I think it died while doing so. It then went into recovery mode. I tried to put it into iTunes to restore it, but that keeps failing too. The phone has a custom firmware, and I have no idea where or how to get the firmware to properly restore the phone to. Any ideas?
