Rice stuck in iphone 4s sim port?

Yesterday, I was going over to a friends house. I rushed into the car, and my iphone 4s fell out of my pocket into a puddle. It worked fine, until I got home and tried charging it. Since it wouldn't charge, I removed the sim card and tray and put it in a bag of rice. When I took it out, it charged perfectly fine, but the sim port had pieces of rice stuck in it. They're small, slightly crushed up. About 2mm, there's two of them. They're all the way in, I'm able to move them around with a paperclip but I'm scared that it'll damage my sim port. I don't think I'd be able to purchase anything or open up my phone, as my parents do not know what happened to my phone.

Rice doesn't work that fast… But you'd only know that with experience and reading up on it. The rice can be vacuumed out but you'll need a very tiny nozzle which can be had on the internet… If you googled it you'd know but running here does nothing other than telling us… Yeah nm… Good luck

I don't know how to fix that. Maybe a thin plastic toothpick, but I'm not sure.

Alas, you may have served as an example of the folly of using rice to dry out electronic devices.

The thing to get is silica gel packs. Maybe one of these or something similar. As you learned the hard way, worth the money compared to rice.

Compressed air should blow them out.

  • Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
  • Uncooked rice grain wedged in charger port iphone 5s? I tried the rice trick on my wet iphone, the phone is now working fine except a piece of rice is wedged RIGHT at the bottom of the charger hole. Tweezers, knife, pin, vacuum cleaner are not able to get it out. Will Apple be able to get it out because I can't even see the grain of rice anymore and the charger does not work.
  • Rice stuck in iPhone plug in? So I dropped my phone in a puddle and I put it in rice, it got stuck in the hole where you put the headphone and it will now play no music or make any sounds because it thinks there's headphones in it.
  • Rice stuck in iPhone headphone jack? My phone got wet so i put it in rice, it works fine now but i can't use my headphones because there's rice stuck in the headphone jack! I tried getting it out with tweezers but only like half of it fell out. I tried again with a toothpick but it still won't come out?
