Rooting Android VS Jailbreaking iPhone?
I have had the iPhone now for a year or so, and I had it jailbroken, but there was a hardware issue and now I'm stuck with ios 6.1.3 which doesn't have a jailbreak for it yet. I'd like a galaxy s3 but, I've had the iPhone now for so long, I don't know if I should get an s3. There are major differences in Jailbreaking and Rooting. I've never had a 'rooted' android device, so I don't know how they work, or what comes with it and all of that stuff. With rooting, is there something like the "Cydia" app? With Cydia, I know you had to download the different user-made settings and different things. Any knowledge on rooting would be great.
Rooting is similar to jailbreaking, no there's not a "cydia" like app for android most of the the things you want can be found in forums. And a lot of the uncustomizable things in iPhone don't require root on android it's a much open source OS. Custom roms are your best friend. Free Paid apps, music, flash and just better customizability are just some of the things android does without root you can have a deeper more customizable experience with root but you just have to know how to do it.It'll take about 1 week of searching online to fully understand all the benefits and things that your phone can do as all phones are different, but very similar.

- When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
