Router won't connect to any wireless devices after unplugging it-?
My daughter was kicked off xbox live, which is connected directly into router (our pc is too) so I unplugged it for 30 sec. After that pc and xbox worked but none of our phones will connect. 1 iphone AT&T 2 samsung and 1 lg all with tmobile. I unplugged the router 2 more times and the modem too. Still no luck. My lg tries connecting authenticating etc… Signal strength is excellent- then says it's disabled. Anyone know how to fix this. We got a knew modem the other day if that matters, but 1st time this happened.
I don't think it's because of the router, I think it's because of t-mobile.
Go on google and search, What's my ip address. Then copy your ip into the search bar and hit enter, Now go depending on what modem your running, find your Wi-Fi settings and see if you have them blocked for some reason.
Did you call your ISP to inform them of your new modem?
Xbox live has nothing to do with your phones connecting to the wireless router.
Xbox can ban a public WAN IP preventing your Xbox from connecting to Xbox live, that's all. Won't affect anything except the Xbox.
That being said,
Many wireless routers and devices support both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Each frequency band is configured separately on both the wireless router and the device.
Your wireless router has a configurable network name (SSID), security type such as WEP, WPA or WPA2 and a Wi-Fi password.
Once you have the Wi-Fi settings configured on the wireless router, then each Wi-Fi device must be configured to match.
Go into the Wi-Fi settings on your phone and locate the SSID name of your wireless network that you set on the router. Now put in the Wi-Fi password that you set on the router.
Your phone should connect to the router via a Wi-Fi connection.
The answer to this "might" be a "simple Fix". Aka Router RESET.
Step 1.) "UNPLUG" the router from the power
Step 2.) "WAIT" 30 seconds
Step 3.) "PLUG" power cord back into router. < wait for all indicators on router to "Light up" again >
Step 4.) "TRY" connecting to Internet again.
( IF the above don"t work to "reset" your router, then "turn OFF" ( entire computer system ).
<wait> one minute. NOW turn computer system back ON and repeat steps 1-4 above.
This should get your router back up and working in in a fairly short amount of time.
