Saving iPhone text messages?

I was just wondering if it is possible to save my iphone texts to my computer. I need to completely restore my iphone but I want to keep the messages. So is it possible to save it on my computer then transfer my texts back to my iphone?

Back up your phone to itunes and then restore it from that back up

I do not believe you can. But I have never tried. This is a question you may want to type into the apple website itself.

If you have iCloud enabled, the messages are saved automatically with a backup. Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and select 'Back Up Now.' Once the backup is made, do the restore and restore from backup. The messages will all come back.

  • Why is my iPhone5 sending some messages as iMessage and others as Text Messages? I understand that messages are sent as Text Messages when there's no signal or poor Wi-Fi connection. However, I'm successfully texting some people using iMessage but others (still iPhone users) as Text messages. The other person will send iMessages and then my responses will be sent as green Text Messages.

  • When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
  • Saving pictures on my iphone to icloud? I just got the iphone 4s. The store transfered my pictures from my android to the iphone but only pictures I have taken with my iphone are saving to icloud. How do i save the transfered pictures to icloud? If something happens to my phone I'm scared of loosing them so I want to do this soon… ** Note: I tried going into settings, icloud, back up now and they are still not there… **
