Seagate External Drive wiping my iPhoto Library

As I was importing my iPhone photo library onto my iPhoto file which is saved on my Seagate 3TB External Drive, something went wrong. The cord was barely unplugged after the transfer was successful. The library then began to show weird stuff as it eventually said try to "restore library". I waited as it restored, as after nothing came up. I have lost everything on my iPhoto which sucks. I tried the "option command" and all of that, is my stuff good for gone?

No one should ever trust any one HDD to store their important files. All HDD fail eventually. That is why one does regular backups to different devices on a regular basis.

I would try your external drive on another system, see if you can find your files. If other systems do not see anything, then assume the drive has died. If files are visible, try to make a copy of your external drive to another one (or clone it if possible) and see if you can copy the files to that second device, then read it on you system after.
