Should I buy an iMac now or wait till OS X Yosemite is released?

I'm a long time apple user who consistently upgrades (currently own iPod nano 6th gen, iPad Air and iPhone 6 on the way). I previously owned dell and HP laptops that have both recently died and were becoming outdated. I now want to switch to a desktop and have been researching iMacs having never previously owned one. The one I'm looking at purchasing is the 27in 3.4GHz, 8GB Ram, 1TB Fusion drive, 2GB graphics with track pad and numeric keyboard. I've read a lot about OS X Yosemite and rumours of when it will come out (1st Qtr 2015?)

The question I have is: am I better to wait till Yosemite is released and comes as the OS system on a possibly upgraded iMac or should I buy the model listed above with the hope I can download Yosemite when it comes out? Any advice, opinions greatly appreciated.

  • Why does my pc reboot when trying to install yosemite? Hi i'm trying to install Yosemite on my Laptop PC and i'm using tonymacx86 tutorial. I got the usb stuff and all that but when i hit enter to boot the setup it flashes white and reboots my laptop what can I o to fix this? I need to install Yosemite for work so i can program an app for the iphone!
  • Should I purchase the IPhone 5s now or wait till the IPhone 6? I'm planning to pay out for a phone contract, however I'm not sure whether to buy the 5s or just wait for the IPhone 6. I have looked on websites saying it maybe be release sometime in September or October 2014; some time around there. I would just like to know other peoples opinions on this matter.
