Should I buy an Iphone 5 of gumtree or craigslist?

There's a 16gb one for £110 from gumtree and a 64gb one for £280, its cheap but it still seems a little bit shady so i'm not too sure? Is it worth it or will i probably get a faulty phone or scammed?

The legitimate phones are selling for around the same price that Apple are selling them new and a £700 phone for £280 is either stolen, faulty or permanently blocked.

They are 100% scams.

If you do buy a cheap phone like that, what would you do if it was stolen or is faulty? If you buy from ebay you have their buyer protection to help out, the big scam is "sell your phone" then report it stoen, get a new phone then the old phone get blacklisted… I would never risk my money on a phone from craigslist or such.

They will both be stolen phones
They are going to be some of the more than 250 phones stolen each day in the UK
The phone will be worthless and you won't be able to use it as it's already been reported stolen and can't be reactivated
Or they are cheap Chinese clones that don't sync with your computer, don't connect with the App store and don't work with any iPhone apps. It looks like an iPhone but is useless for anything but making calls

Unless the seller agrees to meet you either at the Apple store or the store where they have a mobile contract and get the account transferred over to you, you know it's a stolen phone and you might as well just throw your money down the toilet

There's no reason why anyone would sell a phone less than 6 months old for less than half price unless it was stolen or a counterfeit phone
