Should I buy the factory unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple?
Or should I buy one of the many listed on Craigslist? It's just they are cheaper. I saw quite a few selling for exactly $650 or less. Reason I want an unlocked one is because I want to use with T-mobile which is only charging me $60 a month for unlimited text, calls and web.

Added (2). I do not understand what Susan has to say. I have a Sprint iPhone 4s activated with a T-mobile sim card and I did not pay an activation fee. All I paid for was the sim card. What I'm asking is: Should I get an iPhone 5 unlocked from Apple or one on Craigslist?

A phone is not locked or unlocked when you receive it really. It isn't any good until you have a carrier. Most charge a $35. Activation fee to "unlock" your phone.
Apple does not sell the iPhone 5 factory unlocked (at this time). I'd wait & get one from them personally.
