Should I delete messages on my iPhone?
I'm just curious if having messages that can read back to the date I bought my iphone will slow it down? I know they archive after a certain number of messages but do I need to delete the old messages?
Don't worry about that Bro, since its an iphone it will never slow down even its memory is fully occupied, but I think that you should delete the messages that you don't need because it unnecessarily occupies your phone's space.
No, I've had messages on my iPhone for 6 months and it's not slowed down in the slightest. It's because those messages only take up such a minute part of the memory it's not going to hinder your phone at all plus it also has such a fast processor that it won't be bogged down like if it was a smaller phone with a smaller memory and processor.
A 160 character text would take up 320 bytes. If your memory space is 256mb that would equate to 268, 435, 456 bytes. Standard SMS message is limited to a 160 characters so if you use the memory entirely for text messaging, it would store 1, 677, 721 messages.
- Why do iPhone messages come up as picture messages on other phones? When my friend sends me texts, she has an iphone, they come up as picture messages and i can't revieve them on my phone because my plan doesn't cover picture messages. Can she change the settings so it won't come up as a picture?
- When I receive text messages with emojis from an iPhone, why do the messages only appear partially? My phone is a "Verizon Samsung Intensity II" slide phone. (Also it's blue but that doesn't matter.) Also, if I'm included in an iPhone group chat (spoiled rich friends, but not snobby…), I get each posted message as a separate message, so I'll end up randomly with 67 unread messages clogging up my inbox.
- Read messages on my iPhone sometimes show up as unread messages on my Mac? - 1 I'm talking about email messages. I have my accounts hooked up to iCloud, so if I read an email on my iPhone or Mac, it should count it as read on the other device. It has worked, but sometimes it doesn't. What can/should I do?
- If I turn off push messages on my iphone 4 will I still get my regular text messages? I read that turning off push messages or setting them to manually helps save battery life. I want to know if I do this will I still be able to receive my regular text messages.
