Should I feel guilty for stealing my neighbours Wi-Fi?

I know it's stupid
And it's not really "stealing" as they just don't put a password.
I connect my iphone/mac/ps3 to their Wi-Fi
Is it weird I feel a bit bad? Tho I still do it heh but it's pretty much their fault right?
I ain't complaining but should I feel bad

Contact them and say "I notice you have Wi-Fi, could I pay you say $10 (or so) a month to access it occasionally? I will not be doing anything to disrupt you, like I will not run NetFlick, just mostly email?" If they agree, give them the money up front and in advance each month. If not, stop using it.

Using a neighbor's wireless access point may not be legal even with their permission. The answer varies depending on the policies of residential Internet service providers and plans among other factors.
Many US states prohibit unauthorized access to computer networks including open Wi-Fi networks.

Maybe you should advise your neighbour to put a password on their Wi-Fi?

A rose by any other name is still a rose. When you steal, it is theft. Pure and simple. He finds out, the police will arrest you and take all your computer equipment.

An honest person would feel bad. I guess you're not an honest person.

Maybe they own free Wi-Fi hotspot.

If There's No Password on Wi-Fi Than They want You to use Their Wi-Fi.

No, I leave mine open so I can monitor what my neighbors are doing on it.

Karma. I don't know why, but it does exist.

It is illegal to use their service, not that anyone cares. You can't complain when you will have something stolen.

If you leave your car unlocked, how would you feel if someone borrowed it without your permission. You would call the police.

Don't be surprised when the police knock on your door. Using a network without the owner's permission is theft.

Either get your own Internet connection or talk to your neighbour about sharing his connection and the costs involved.

  • Is it normal to feel this guilty? I come from a rich family and I'm always guilty! I hate when I have something that others don't have it makes me feel guilty and depressed. Like if I have my nails polished and someone else doesn't I feel very bad i don't know why but I hate this… I have an iPhone but if I go to a sleepover and my friend doesn't have one I get very sad! Am I spoiled? Why do I feel this way?
  • Is it normal to feel guilty after buying something expensive for yourself? My dad bought me a iPhone 4S because i really wanted one and because he said i deserved it and i needed a phone. I previously had a cheap android phone that i rarely used. I feel guilty for wasting my dads hard earned money and i feel like i'm spoiled and i don't deserve it. I do get good grades though. Any ideas to help me stop feeling guilty please? Its eating me up. My dad said that its okay and we still has a lot of money. But i still feel guilty.
