Should I get a Mac? Pros and cons?

I own a Windows 8 (recently upgraded to Windows 10). And I've been a pc user my whole life. Now I want to switch to Mac. Honestly I don't know why, half of me is telling me that yes definitely get it! But the other half is telling me that I just want it for a ego booster. Also I like the sound it makes when you click lol.

Most of the hardware is not made by Apple, just like most Dell hardware is not made by Dell. It's the same thing as any other computer, you're just paying extra for it.

Hardware aside, let's look at the OS. It will take lots of getting used to. It supports less programs than Windows. Since it is Apple, it will keep pushing you to get other Apple products to use with it. For example, it is so much harder to use an Android on Mac OS X than it is to use an iPhone on Mac OS X, or an Android on Windows. There are also the features that will take some getting used to.

If you are thinking about a MacBook, note that batteries exploding in their laptops have been an expected thing by Apple for over a decade. If you are thinking of a Mac desktop, get a Windows desktop, no question. You can upgrade things way more easily in a PC tower than an All-in-One or a tiny Mac Pro.

It looks nice. It's good for video/photo editing. That's about it. Windows can get good photo and video editing software, so I would stick with Windows. If you don't like Windows 10, you can revert back to 8.1 or wait until 10 gets better (They work very hard to update it and fix issues).

Never get fooled by marketing. It really depends on what you prefer. If i had the chance I would definitely get a Mac, but then again I would only use it for the editing software. If you only use computers for writing papers or doing occasional browsing, a Mac is great. If you're a hardcore gamer, a pc would be a better choice. Before you buy a mac, first try using one to see if you like it. It has a totally different "feel" to it than a windows PC.

But if you're only doing it as an ego booster, it's not worth the money, because no one else will know what system you're using. Get a mac only if it meets your needs as a computer.

  • What are the pros and cons of a sprint and tmobile merge? Will my coverage speeds change? Will my Tmobile iPhone 5c be technically be running off of sprints network? Sprint is just downright terrible. I don't want to be paying a cent for service I can't use. Please tell me this isn't the case. TMobile uses HSPA+ network, and sprint uses CDMA. Those technologies are 2 totally different technologies, therefore probably rendering them incompatible.
  • Should I Buy the iPhone 5 from Apple or Verizon? (Pros and Cons Please.)? My wireless phone service is on a business plan and only the business owner is our Verizon Account Manager, so I do not have rights to access my Verizon account. I have had my Blackberry Storm2 for over 3 years and I'm wondering if it is better for me to wait and see if Verizon will offer the 64GB iPhone 5 at a discounted price for me or if Apple will offer the iPhone 5 at the same exact price as Verizon including the ability to sync with my Verizon business account?
  • Pros And Cons On Using Iphone 4s On Tmobile? Well I'm Goinq To Unlock My Iphone And Connect It With T-Mobile And My Brother Told Me That ICant Receive And Send Pictures And IWant To Know If Thats True. Also What Are Downsides Similar To Those That IHas. Iphone 4s IOS 6
  • Pros and cons on iphones and androids? Which is better in your opinion? Please don't just put a one-word answer, I need legitimate reasons why one is better than the other. OR why it's a draw, and describe their equal advantages and setbacks. My friend asked me why I didn't have an Iphone and I said that iphones aren't unique enough for me; there's no originality since lots of people have them. Correct me if I'm wrong, or support me, which ever supports your opinion as well.
